Northwest Gold Coast was first a business newsletter put out November 15th, 2001 under the name “CeSI’s Business Forum”. It was originally designed to promote communications between businesses located or operating in Burien, SeaTac, Normandy Park and Tukwila, Washington. The newsletter was distributed monthly and still is today. Elizabeth Paulsen of Cascade e-Commerce Solutions, Inc., CeSI, had observed that though chambers of commerce, rotary clubs and other organizations existed to play a role in supporting local businesses, none seemed to combine their strengths with effective use of the Internet and most did not focus strongly on the specific cities of Burien, SeaTac, and Tukwila. Thus, CeSI’s Business Forum was created.
Over time CeSI’s Business Forum has evolved like any healthy business plan. In July 2003, the plan moved from a monthly newsletter to an online blog at www.northwestgoldcoast.com. The scope expanded in 2003 as well and went through an update and overhaul in early 2013. While Burien, SeaTac, and Tukwila are still central to our mission we also share activities and businesses from Puyallup to Everett. Some of this has happened since CeSI’s own employee base have made their homes as far as Auburn to Redmond and we like to highlight what they love in their own part of town just as much as in our business’ home base of SeaTac. Also, the newsletter seeks to promote what exactly makes this area a Gold Coast of business, entrepreneurship, creativity, activities and a focus on always improving.
Northwest Gold Coast accomplishes this through business profiles, special holiday deals, seasonal bucket lists of great activities highlighting the special events and traditions our area holds, restaurant reviews and information on staying up-to-date in the world of local and online business. Northwest Gold Coast is also on Pinterest and Twitter.
